Another year
has passed and that usually means it’s time to make some adjustments to our
bodies. We’ve eaten too much and exercised too little and at the same time, somehow
our clothes shrunk a little too. Good news- there are so many different
opportunities to conquer this challenge.
I always
think of the typical muscle gym when working out comes to mind. These serve a
purpose, but as we get older, they may not be that appealing any more. No
excuses, it’s not your only option. The Richmond area offers women’s and men’s
fitness places along with kids’ fitness. This type of gym includes circuit
training, nutritional advice, 30 minute workouts, body toning, aerobics, and so
much more.
Mega gyms
are also available. They offer more workout options including lots of
cardiovascular and strength training, and bigger workout facilities like
basketball courts and swimming pools. They also have personal trainers for your
assistance. This type of gym usually has many people working out and several
choices for everyone.
If neither
the muscle gyms, family fitness centers or mega gyms meet your needs then keep
looking. There are Pilates classes, personal trainers, sports performance
training and dance classes. Some of the personal trainers and sports people
will even come to your home for the workout.
Other free
options are available too. Richmond City and each of the surrounding counties
have a variety of free exercise classes and activities. Check their websites to
find what works for you. Also, there are so many parks in our area calling our
names to get moving.
Time to
Tighten Up can be our battle cry for 2015. Let’s all encourage each other to
treat our bodies right and get them moving. Exercises and activities are going
to be a 2015 focus for us at Extra Attic too. We want all of you to be healthy
and in the end, I think our clothes will even stretch back to a size that fits!
