Should I Use Temperature-Controlled Solutions for Shipping and Storing?

When shipping and storing temperature-sensitive items, there is a transportation and storage model that should be followed.  With today's technology, means are available for getting your item from point A to point B in a safe manner.  And, when your item arrives to its destination, climate-controlled storage facilities are available to keep your item safe from the fluctuating temperature outdoors.

When deciding whether or not you should ship and store your items in a climate-controlled fashion, you first need to know if it's necessary.  If the item you want to ship and store came with a user manual when you first bought it, check it to see if there's a recommendation for temperature settings.  If the recommendations are narrow and strict, it's best to use services that move and store items in controlled settings.

Here are some questions to ask yourself when deciding to invest in temperature controlled storage and shipping.

How much is my item worth, monetarily and sentimentally?
Has it reacted negatively to fluctuating temperatures in the past?
Have other people with the same item noticed negative effects of fluctuating temperatures?
What is the cost of shipping and storage vs. the value of the item?

After answering these questions, you'll have a good idea if you should use climate solutions for relocating and storing your items.  An important thing people often overlook is the sentimental value of an item.  Sometimes people mistakenly think it's not cost-effective to spend money on shipping and storing an item that's meaningful to them, whether it's an antique boat, car, or piece of foreign furniture made of the finest wood.

It comes down to the fact that some things can't be replaced.  And when they can't, shipping services and storage facilities like Extra Attic are available to provide cost-effective solutions.  If you're relocating to the Richmond, VA, area and need temperature-controlled storage for a valuable item, contact Extra Attic online or call us at 1 of our 4 locations.

Please note: Extra Attic does not provide shipping services and recommends conducting a simple Google search for climate-controlled shipping options in your area.

Its better to choose climate controlled storage units in Toronto for storing your items. Any delicate items can be stored without being affected by climate changes.
